Beyonder Youth Program
Every child has potential. However, not every child has the chance to actualize that potential. The Beyonder Youth Program is designed to help children discover and develop their potential through the use of creativity and creative approaches to problem-solving. The Beyonder Youth Program is aligned with the 21st Century Skills and designed to provide future generations with creativity skills that would give them an advantage in an increasingly competitive world. The program leverages more than 50 years of practice and rigorous research from the International Center for Studies in Creativity (ICSC) at Buffalo State College. The research shows that creativity can be taught and deliberately engaged to help individuals create alternatives, solve complex problems and maximize opportunities. The Beyonder Youth Program is based on college-level curriculum that has been adapted to specifically meet the needs of today’s youth and was tested over three years at programs run at SUNY Buffalo State. The curriculum was created as a collaboration between Ismet Mamnoon, Jenna Smith and Pamela Szalay.
